SC Freiburg has come back from two goals down to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating chances but failing to find the net until the final minutes. In the 88th minute, however, SC Freiburg's Christian Grufling equalized for his team after he scored from close range following a corner kick.

Just four minutes later, FC Bayern Munich forward Armin Vellano made it 2-1 for Borussia Mönchengladbach when he headed home a cross from Stefan Finnbogason. However, the visitors were unable to hold onto their lead as SC Freiburg fought back to level things up again.

In the 95th minute, substitute Emil Forsberg found space in the box and fired home a low shot to give his side the lead once more. The result means that SC Freiburg will go into the international break sitting in sixth place in the league table, just three points behind fourth-placed RB Leipzig.

The win also comes at a crucial time for the team, who have struggled recently in the league. With the likes of Grufling and Vellano scoring vital goals, the squad is starting to show signs of improvement under new head coach Florian Kohl.

Overall, it was a tough and hard-fought victory for SC Freiburg, who showed great resilience and determination to come back from a two-goal deficit against one of the top teams in Germany. The win is sure to boost morale within the squad and could set them up well for the rest of the season.
